How to
prep for your trial
Wear White or Light Colors
Mimic your dress color and neckline
Bring Inspo Pics (And Be Realistic)
Choose photos with similar hair texture, length, and skin tone for more accurate expectations.
Have Clean, Dry Hair
Dirty hair is a MYTH! Wash your hair the night before, ideally with clarifying shampoo. Avoid heavy products or flat ironing.
Arrive with a Fresh Face
No makeup! Just clean, moisturized skin.
Touch up your color
Make sure if you color your hair that your roots are fresh. Believe it or not this affects the final look so much more than you would expect, especially when involving braids or twists.
Hair removal
Be sure to wax or thread your brows to have them shaped and cleaned up at least a couple days beforehand. Dermaplaning is also a great service to consider that removes peach fuzz and gives you a smooth, even surface for the makeup application.
Spray tan
If you’re trial is in the winter especially, this is 💯
Bring Your Accessories
If you have any you want to use-bring them! If not, we rent and sell them for your convenience and to play around with different looks!
Know Your Vibe
Are you going for romantic, glam, boho, classic?
Be Honest
This is your time to tweak and adjust. Speak up about what you love—or don’t. We can’t know unless you tell us and we are happy to make adjustments. We never take it personally.
Bring a buddy
If you have a hard time making decisions or speaking up, bring a friend to help talk it out and give their input. On the flip side, if you know what you want, maybe opt out of bringing along someone who has a different vision for you and may be pushy.
Make fun plans afterward
Scheduling a dress fitting same day or at minimum drinks with the girls or a date night afterwards is a must. First, because you have to show off looking so beautiful and secondly to test out the longevity and comfort of your look to report back to us for any necessary changes.

Your trial is more than just a preview of your wedding day look—it’s the moment everything starts to feel real. It’s your time to be seen, heard, celebrated… and to truly feel like a bride.
From the moment you walk in, you’ll be welcomed into a completely personalized, relaxed, and supportive experience. We’ll talk through your vision, review inspiration photos, discuss your hair texture, skin needs, dress details, and anything else that matters to you. Our focus is on listening, problem-solving, and refining every detail to ensure your look is not only beautiful, but built to last.
Here’s what you can expect during your trial:
A thorough consultation with open, thoughtful communication
Professional artists you can trust
A detailed breakdown of your inspo photos to identify the exact elements you love
Regular check-ins throughout the process for feedback and adjustments
A fully customized look tailored to your vision
A final spin to take in your finished look
Notes taken on any changes or tweaks we’ll want to make for the big day
Photos and videos from every angle for both your reference and ours

A calm confidence that your wedding morning will be smooth, stress-free, and fully planned
No payment needed at your trial—it’s already included in your package
If you’d like to leave gratuity, tips can be given directly to your artist via cash or Venmo.
After your trial, we’ll follow up within a couple of days to check in on how everything held up—because how your look wears is just as important as how it starts.
Your trial is also the perfect time to:
Go over the morning-of timeline together
Talk through what your bridesmaids want for their styles
Flag anyone with extra long or thick hair who may need additional time
Plan and strategize solutions and helpful details—like scheduling the flower girl after nap time, or tactfully placing a tricky bridesmaid later in the lineup if needed
This is one of our favorite parts of the process—it’s when we truly connect with you and start building trust. By the time your wedding day arrives, you’ll feel calm, confident, and taken care of—and we’ll already feel like part of your crew.
Pro tip: If possible, schedule your dress fitting after your trial. Seeing your full bridal look come together is always a moment.

We suggest scheduling flower girls toward the end of the timeline—this keeps their look fresh, fits around nap time, and gives them room to move and play beforehand without undoing their style.

Keep the room tidy — clutter shows in photos.
Hydrate! Even if you have to force yourself. The last thing you want is to be faint or get a headache on your wedding day. Bonus points that it makes your skin and makeup look way better too.
Set aside details (invites, jewelry, shoes, perfume, veil) for the photographer.
Steam dresses before hair and makeup.
Bring a speaker and make your Spotify playlist ahead of time to capture the vibe you want to set for the day.
Wear something with a loose neckline or button-down: A robe, oversized tee, or zip-up helps avoid smudging your makeup or messing up your hair when changing into your dress.
Pack easy-to-eat snacks (even if you’re not hungry or are feeling nauseas… think plain bagels, ritz crackers or saltines, banana)
Skip a strict timeline — just have everyone arrive at the same time and designate only who’s going first.
Assign a go-to person: Choose a bridesmaid or family member to handle questions, texts, or vendor check-ins so you can stay relaxed and present.
Bring straws to use after your lipstick is done.
Be present in the moment. The only way to do that is to overestimate your timeline for everything to leave yourself a window for a calm moment. You’ll really be glad you did.
Why Do Hairstylists and Makeup Artists Charge for Travel?
We get it—charging for travel might feel like just an extra fee, but it’s so much more than gas money.
Being a professional on the move requires a lot of planning, preparation, and effort to ensure you get the same top-tier experience as you would in the salon.
Traveling to your location offers the luxury of convenience, bringing salon-quality service right to you. But because most locations don’t come fully equipped, we bring everything we need to make your day flawless.
This includes:
Carrying heavy, bulky equipment up stairs or across tricky terrain
Transporting suitcases, tripods, lighting, extension cords, and other essentials that the venue may not provide
Investing in travel-friendly tools and portable furniture
Managing the mental checklist to prevent any last-minute hiccups or forgotten items
Packing, double-packing, and triple-checking every piece of equipment
Time and fuel costs for driving to and from your location
Time spent away from our home base preparing and working on your day
We do all of this because we absolutely love it. There’s nothing like the energy and excitement of a wedding day getting-ready party, and we take pride in not only having everything you expect—but also surprising you with the details you didn’t even think of.
